Removal company from CH to Sweden

Hi Forum,

So my new contract has been organised and I will be starting in Sweden in December. I've gotten some great help from EF regarding the process of leaving, and now I was hoping that some users could recommend to me a removal company between Switzerlad and Sweden - any takers on this? I was thinking of hiring a van and doing the run myself, but if I can find a reasonable deal for a company I'd rather pay that and spend the time getting in some last minute snowboarding :-p

Cheers in advance

Re: Removal company from CH to Sweden

i've been in touch with these guys: http://www.alfamoving.com/en/

they seem professional and do it on a regular basis (every 2 weeks), I don't have any real experience though.

Of course, failing a decent quote, I will look into van rental. Has anyone experience with cross Europe one-way van rental in situations such as this? If so, can a company be recommended?

Re: Removal company from CH to Sweden

I could recommend two: one is Alfa (already listed) and another one is Interdean. Both were very professional, prompt in response in terms of giving quotes and flexible in terms of dates, even on short-ish notice.

You won't find a one way, cross border, rental anywhere. If you take a second driver, he has to sign the contract and insurance details together with you, so sharing a van is difficult too.

If you want to pay me, I could drive the empty van back again. If you find someone to fill the van for a return journey, I don't mind driving that either.

It is about 1'900 Km from Bern to Stockholm, maybe plus a ferry, and a few hotel night stops. Have you thought of taking half a contaiiner, it might be cheaper?

Hi Sbrinz,

Thanks for the info - just checked into it myself recently and found out the same about the one-way. Could you pm me a cost estimate for the return journey? I may take you up on that, but I may need to come back anyway to settle some other issues before the move is finalised.

Also, can you clarify what you mean by half a container?
