Today I need to go to Schifflände Basel to de-register with the authorities. Does anyone know what I need to do this and how much it costs?

Even going there is a 5-10 min process, doesnt take much too long.
You dont need anything except new address (as applicable)

Your permit could be good to bring along....

Quick question, do I need to give the permit card to the authority?

Last time, i went through the de-registration process, I got to keep my permit as a souvenier.

My understanding is that you are still able to use it as a schengen visa post de-registration. However, you are not allowed to work after the deregistration date. I may be wron on this part though.
