Leaving Switzerland :(

Dear all,

I am relocating for a couple of years and would like to sort out my apartment, furnitures, and car.

Any suggestion where i can publish as effective platform? I have most new stuff unfortunately, and I dont want to leave it behind.

Thnx for the help!

Cheers!

Re: Leaving Switzerland :(

If you know when you will be coming back, you could sublet the apartment, furnished.
You can charge the rent you pay plus a premium per month for the furniture. After 2 years you may have as much as selling it second-hand. When you return you still have a furnished apartment to come back too.

Just a suggestion, depends if the landlord will allow sublet.

Re: Leaving Switzerland :(

And do check if you can sublet (not only with the landlord) but also if your permit allows you to keep a rented property? Normally your permit expires if you leave the country for more than 6 months (in case of B/C).

I was thinking of the case where you are still employed by Swiss company, just working away.

My last sub-let was this case.

Yes, if you are relocated by a Swiss company, the chances are ok you can do this (and of course if your landlord agrees). But only up to 4 years I think.

And I remember to have read on EF that your permit needs to be valid in that time period?
