Dhl

Does anybody know if you can transfer household things using DHL for moving out of Switzerland? If yes, do they have better prices?

Re: Dhl

You can, I did for some smaller stuff. Just keep in mind if you should decide to ship this from Germany (lower cost) that they are partly on strike so it may or may not be shipped..... Waiting for several weeks already for some things I ordered and that were sent by DHL

Re: Dhl

Depending on what you want to ship also look at Swiss Post. Sending things like books, etc, by economy post is slower, but cheaper so if you don't need them immediately a few days' (or weeks depending on where you're moving to) delay isn't a problem. We did this on holiday in the States a few years ago. Sent back books and some clothing using US Post economy parcel service which meant it arrived 2-3 weeks after we got home. The likes of UPS/DHL, etc, wanted to charge $100 more to essentially take the package down to the nearest Post office and send it from there.

You can ship what you want, i used to ship over 20'000kg per month with DHL/FedEx, better rate, i doubt it, why should they, you going to guarantee multiple repeat business ?

Re: Dhl

I assume they meant better price than the Swiss post which I would imagine is true.

Re: Dhl

Hi Zurich2015, what was the rate that you finally got from DHL? Was it worth it?
