Re: Phone Contract

Well, you wouldn't leave the contract running... right?

Call them and ask, and they will probably ask you to provide proof of leaving the country and then you shouldn't get any additional charges.

If it is just a simple cancellation, they usualy cancel when you leave the country, but if you opted for a package with a "FREE" phone then no, you'll pay.

There is no such thing as a "FREE" phone, it's just plain simple credit and differed payment

Obviously you have never been self employed.

So if it's just a subscription without a phone it's a free cancellation? That's good if it is like that but still there might be a two-months notice so you'd still have to do it well in advance!

Possibility and certainty are two different things

Re: Phone Contract

We just asked this question to swisscom last night. The answer was clear:
once we inform the Gemeinde of our departure (to give back the B permits), they furnish a document that can be used for swisscom to use as proof.

Re: Phone Contract

But you still have to pay for the phone if you have got one from Swisscom on credit.

Is that prorated per contract length? I'm guessing I'll be at month 22 of 24 on a subsidised phone.

Re: Phone Contract

I just had to cancel my contract with Salt. No phone, still have to pay a 100 chf penalty for early cancellation.
