Leaving Switzerland, family will follow later

Tried the search, no success, so here's the question:

I will be relocated by my employer to another country in EU 1st of Jan. My family would follow 6 months later once the school year is over, meanwhile I would commute but my address would be in the new destination i.e. I would de-register.

I have heard there might be an issue because my wife has no income etc. Obviously I would pay the rent etc. but do I need to prove they will not live on wellfare somehow or do they kick out my family after 90 days. Or do they even care as long as bills are paid, our B-permit is valid until 2018?

We are all EU citizens with B-permit, kids in private school which has been paid for full year.

Anyone been in similar situation?

If you plan to come back regularly, i.e. every weekend or couple of weeks why not just wait to deregister?

That could be an option but I think the issue there is I start new work and need to register in destination land to be able to be on the payroll for the local affiliate, to be subject to local tax etc. I will work for the same company but the affiliates are completely separate entities... Swiss expat deal would be a dream but companies have less appetite for those, obviously due to price tag....

Re: Leaving Switzerland, family will follow later

Your family can stay if they can prove that they can support themselves ... if no work contract, then they ask for a bank statement. They might not say anything when you de-register, or they might query it if your family's permits were issued based on your work contract.

Perfect, many thanks for clarifying! It was based on my work contract but bank statement should not be an issue.

If you deregister they are going to have questions about everyone else as ask for supporting paperwork. They will be able to stay. But not forever in these circumstances .
