Moving wine collection from Switzerland to UK

Has anyone had any experience moving their wine collection from Switzerland to the EU?

We have quite a collection and are moving to the UK shortly.

I know we can move the wine freely (90+ bottles per person) from the EU to the UK, but how about from Switzerland into France?

Thanks!!

Will you be keeping the wine in France or just drive through?

Not sure about the transit requirements in EU countries, but usually with your collection you would collect a transit paper at the French customs point, maybe you have to pay a security deposit. This you should receive back when you exit France again. (this info could be outdated though...)

I can provide my stomach as a safe and secure transportation method...I don't charge very much but I give no guarantee's on the quality of the delivered product.

Re: Moving wine collection from Switzerland to UK

We are just driving through to get to the UK. It is free to move the wine within the EU, we just don't know how it works from Switz into EU.

Haha! Of course not.... just that my other belongings are unlikely to raise any customs and excise issues :-)
