I have a question,

Recently been offered a great job in Germany.

We are American Non EU citizens with 3 year B permit.

If we leave Switzerland, can we keep our Postfinance account? We also
Have a credit card with them that we quite like. Can we keep that?

Also we have a Swiss Air card we really like due to the miles etc. can we keep that if living in Germany?

I have read conflicting reports from No .. You must close all accounts after deregistering to because you live in a neighboring EU country it's ok.

Does the kanton alert the banks if and when you deregister?

Any advice would be appreciated.. Thanks!
Bank accounts are secret in CH, nobody knows you have an account unless you tell them, it's a criminal offence for a bank to confirm the existence of an account.

The local post office does not know your dealings with Post Finance & has no way of finding out in the normal course of events.

Best would be to check directly with the bank/Company where your3rd Pillar program is registered.

One can definitely withdraw money from 3rd pillar if going abroad to live permaently however If you withdraw funds from a 3rd pillar pension plan before you reach the official retirement age, these will be taxed at a much lower rate and separately from other income. There is a one-off tax which corresponds to the amount that you would pay in one year on this income.
Check this link.

does anyone know how should I withdraw the money when I move to other country for residency?

Re: When leaving...close bank account

ZKB hasn't allowed me to keep my account, though I am relocating to the Netherlands, ie still staying in Europe. They would allow only ones >100K in this case.

ZKB will definitely ask you to close your account if you are not here for a while. I am not sure about the specific timelines but eventually they will ask. I am not sure about the other banks.
