Moving back to UK...maybe

I am considering moving back to the UK. I miss clay-pigeon shooting on Sunday mornings followed by lunch at the pub and a lazy afternoon with the Sunday papers.

How much will I need to earn to be comfortable? Is that even possible in the UK at the moment? (No answer required - OK, now I will take my tongue out of my cheek...)

Serious question: Now with digital/satellite/cable TV, will my Swiss TV work in the UK if I am not using analog TV?? If they don't work, there is no point moving...
