Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Hi, One question here. How much time does a cleaning company takes to clean an apartment? I have 35 m2 apartment.I am looking for cleaning company but I just wanted to know how much time do they take.

Also, does the cost go up substantially if it is furnished apartment? Does anyone have first hand experience of this? I live in one.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Thanks for this info. I hope they live up well to the swiss housing standards (you know the companies really look into every little speck on dirt)... But i'll also give them a ring.

We got a clause in our contract that we need to pay a cleaning service fee for when we move, We were quoted at 6 CHF per sqm, making it just under 1000 CHF (Our appartment is 151 sqmt) I think we made a good deal!

A

That clause is actualy not enforceable.

The flat has to be clean at the hand over to the Landlords' reasonable satisfaction; how it is done is not important, that its' done is important.

Actually not true. He even said so when we talked about it.

Besides, I didn't post this to get into an argument about whether you should use a cleaning lady or not and/or how the landlord treats you differently because you did or didn't. I posted this as an update for my experience using Garcia specifically (since this is what the thread is for)...
Thanks for posting the update. I also contacted Garcia but never heard back so will not bother again.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Hello everyone...

I met a very nice family, recently, that works for a cleaning company in Zurich area. The mother is looking to pick up extra cleaning work. If anyone needs cleaning service, feel free to contact me and I will give you the contact info.

The mother speaks very little English but her daughter speaks and understand English well. The daughter helps her mother with communicating with English speakers.

Have a nice day!

Darryl

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Moving out cleaning is always a dilemma, whether you pay lots of money to get away the picky landlord or you exhaust yourself for cleaning every corner.
What I have found out is CHF 6 per m2 apply to the case where you clean the bathroom and kitchen yourself, clean co only clean the door, floor, window, etc.
Depend on your rental contract, some charge you a cleaning fee while you still need to clean the bathroom and kitchen, some ask you to hand back "completely clean" which either do it yourself or by cleaning company. If you cleaned by yourself and landlord think re-clean is required, they would charge you CHF 50 per hour times estimated hours needed.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Always confirm things locally if the poster gives details of his/her experiences but lives in Basel. The 'final cleaning' rules as set out in the rental agreement were different there last I time I checked it out.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

for the cleaning of our 50sqm flat with lamellae as wind blind in Zurich we add 3 quotes of
about the same price (950CHF + taxes or all inclusive) and one for 650CHF
with warranty.
We went for the cheapest and the cleaning was ok, it satisfied the agency.

The company is BTS Zurich, contact person Mr Benali:

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

I have tried to contact Garcia many times. No replies from the email contact. I called the mobile and she did not speak English. She promised to call back twice but it never happened.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Has anyone used them since the last post (Oct 2010)? I've contacted 3 places now, only 1 has responded and the quote was astronomical...

Getting a bit antsy about it!

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Thanks for the recommendation on Garcia, we are leaving Zurich in a week and are struggling to find a cleaner who will come and do the final cleaning and walkthrough with us that is less than 1500 CHF, even though we only have a 2 bedroom apartment. The prices are insane, but then again, this being Switzerland I am not surprised

Thanks for the tip, here's hoping they respond to my email soon!

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

I am not sure if they speak English, but for the Uster area I can recommend Gresa Reinigung. They made an extremely competitive offer: about 50% cheaper than the other 2 companies I had asked, incl. 'Abnahmegarantie'. They were also there at the handover, no problems whatsoever.

However, I lived right around the corner from them so they had no travel expenses, and it probaby helped that I was very flexible with the date. I also found that it is very easy to negiotiate the cleaning prices, if you think it is too expensive you can easily talk 300 CHF off, although in this case I did not have to, as their offer was well below 1000 CHF for a 3 room apt.
