Found a good final clean quote!

For many of your who are in the same boat as us and are FLABAGASTED at the prices cleaning companies are quoting for a final clean when moving out of your apartment, I just wanted to recommend the people we have found.

They are called Garcia Reinigungen (www.garcia-reinigungen.ch) and my boyfriend's boss and girlfriend have both used them with great results. They also use them for weekly cleaners. They provide a guarantee with the clean, so will come back and re-clean anything necessary until the landlords are happy. Their quote for our 94 sqaure meter 3.5 room apartment was 400chf under anything else we had been quoted.

They give you a 5% discount if you pay cash and also give you a 50chf voucher to use against another clean.

Hope that helps some of you out

I will contact them too. Thanks! (but I wonder if they would bother coming to Bern and keep those prices)

What do you mean by they will "come back and re-clean anything." Most cleaning companies that offer a guarantee have someone there at the handover. Later won't help you much as you won't have a key to let your cleaning company back in. The landlord will just charge you to get their own people to do it.

How much did you end paying for the cleaning?

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Thanks for the suggestion. Our flat is almost 50squaremeters, how much should we expect to pay for a final clean?

Cheers

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Has anyone else contacted this company and actually heard back from them? Because it has almost been a week since I sent in the quote request and I am yet to hear a peep...

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

If you don't hear back, here is another one r.zuberbuehler@b-t.ch (I believe they are located in Basel, but they go to other places to clean as well, e.g. Zurich). They have quoted me 850 for a 3 bedroom apartment which was low compared to other quotes (it is with the guarantee of course).

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Yes, I also contacted them and they haven't replied.
I've got two quotes, both in the same region of CHF 1300.
Our flat is a 4 1/2.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

We got a clause in our contract that we need to pay a cleaning service fee for when we move, We were quoted at 6 CHF per sqm, making it just under 1000 CHF (Our appartment is 151 sqmt) I think we made a good deal!

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Hi,

When we moved out from Basel the building management agreed to a SFr500 pauschal - i.e. they deduct SFr500 from the deposit and we left the place "Besenrein" i.e. given a once-over with a wet sponge. They take care of all the rest.

Cheers,
Nick

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Hi,

We received a letter from our house agent, they send a bill for cleaning at price CHF6 per m2.

My question is, is that true we dont need to do any cleaning at all, just move out all our furniture and give back the keys?

Thanks,

Just an FYI-
This place DOES NOT do move-out cleanings. I just received an email from them saying they are a moving company not a cleaning company...

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

Try giving the mobile number from their website a call if you do not get an email response (www.garcia-reinigungen.ch).
We are paying 780chf including the 50chf voucher they give you and 5% cash discount. For 94 square meters, easily 400chf less than any other quote.

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

As an update-
I just moved out of my flat in Brugg and had Garcia (original recommendation in the OP) do the cleaning.

My landlord was very easy, didn't care too much about the floors, walls, etc. He was most concerned with the kitchen, bathrooms, windows, and that everything still worked (faucets, showers, etc.) so I really didn't need to hire a cleaner.

Regardless, she did a fine job but it was *nothing* special. For my 4.5 room (approx 120 sq meters) it cost just under 1100 CHF. This was not significantly different than the other quotes I received; all were around 1100 (+/- 100) CHFs. And even though they removed the oven filter during the cleaning, she refused to replace it, which was something we thought should be included.

Anyway, I should be receiving my full deposit back. And there were a couple things she didn't do right during the cleaning that she fixed on the spot (during the walk through). So all in all it was a fine experience (although I am not sure I would do it again).

Re: Found a good final clean quote!

The reason the landlord was "easy" was because they knew you'd used a professional cleaner. Try doing a hand-over where you tell them you've done the cleaning yourself and it will be everything but easy.

Had you cleaned yourself, you'd probably focused on the floors, walls, etc and forgotten the details in the kitchen, bathrooms, windows etc.

Actually not true. He even said so when we talked about it.

Besides, I didn't post this to get into an argument about whether you should use a cleaning lady or not and/or how the landlord treats you differently because you did or didn't. I posted this as an update for my experience using Garcia specifically (since this is what the thread is for)...
