L-Dependent Permit - Stay outside Switzerland

Hello Folks,

I understand that 90 days is the limit I can stay outside Switzerland on L-dependant permit. Does it mean that in 365 days the total number of days I can outside Switzerland is 90 days? Or Does it mean that I can come and go but at a time it should not be more than 90 days?

I could not find anything on migration website, etc. Hence, your answers and response would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions and help.

Cheers,

Re: L-Dependent Permit - Stay outside Switzerland

I think 90 days limit is for continuous outside stay, not the total number of days in a year. I was on L work Permit in 2014 and stayed more than 90 days outside Switzerland but not continuously.

You will still need to pay health insurance and you may be detected depending on the passport you have an entry process that gives you into Switzerland.....

Take to people in your Kreisburo. Ask the question about limitations rather hand tell them what you plan.

Plus who long is the validity on your permit? You'll also be limited somewhat when you are in the renewal process.

Thanks simpl_person. Are you a non-EU citizen?

Dear Sean, The permit is valid till May 2015. I plan to be back to Switzerland 2-3 months before it.

Re: L-Dependent Permit - Stay outside Switzerland

Thank you simple_person. I hope your more than 90 days did not split across main and extension permit. For example, if someone's L permit got expired in May 2014 and he was outside for 2 months (Feb and Mar 2014) and after extension he again traveled outside Switzerland for 2 months (Aug and Sep 2014), then it should anyways be not counted as 120 days during a year but just 60 days..

Thanks. Appreciate your response.

All,

My wife and son are back in Switzerland and looks like 90 days clause is only valid for continuous stay outside of Switzerland.

We even confirmed that at immigration office and they explained the same stuff..

Regards
