Goodbye and thanks

Goodbye EF, thanks for all the useful info during my time in Switzerland. I'm in Wales now gradually unpacking my stuff and settling into life on the farm.

Jealous...You'll be able to watch rugby on a normal TV again and not have to go to an Irish pub every time! Best of luck....

It was once a dairy farm but the cows have long since gone and the property has been divided up into smaller parcels. We are living in the old cowshed which was converted into a house three years ago. I have two adjoining derelict stone barns to rebuild as our future home when funds permit. The grazing land is in a sorry state and will need ploughing and reseeding before we can get any animals on there. The wood also needs a lot of work clearing fallen trees so I'm going to be busy this autumn.

We bought a new Breville toaster the day we arrived. It's been used a lot and I've lost count how many we have had. I know it's not the traditional way to make Rarebit but they still taste good with the same ingredients.

Yes they do indeed...

Get a cow and a pig and make your own ingredients, that would be pretty cool

My son is Carp crazy and I'm hoping to show him that Chub and Trout can be fun too. We have around 150m of river bank at the bottom of the wood and the fish can be seen jumping for flies. As far as I know, being a private stretch, it hasn't been fished for at least 10 years. I will post some pics when I've cleared a path to the water's edge.

My wife is already trying to convince me that we need more puppies, donkeys, micro pigs, chickens and horses. I need a tractor for now. The animals will have to wait.

Sorry Kev, can't make Thursday. I will be going to the opticians soon so next time we play I will at least stand a better chance of being a reasonable opponent. Let me know when you are next in the UK.

Definitely a puppy or two first. They'll keep your feet warm in winter.
All the best, man. Happy days ahead.

a friend of mine somehow ended up in france owning a giant lake and breeding carp. he gets a load of people coming to fish there. it must be one of the most serene jobs in the world!
