Relocating to Korea[Busan] - Seeking Advice

Does anyone have any experience relocating to Korea (Busan)?

It doesn't seem to have a large expat community like Seoul.

It is fixed term posting, would be returning here.

I just want you to know, that I am very jealous. Very. Please eat lots of street food on my behalf. Also, click on the moving tab here - everything you need to know, and there's a fair sized expat community there, often better integrated than the equivalents in Hong Kong, Singapore and even Tokyo. It's for the "hardened" Asia expats. Oooh I'm so jealous

So after living many years in Japan I guess I qualify as a "hardened" expat.

Japan is "level 2" anyway hehe You're finally onto level 3....when I find you cutting wood in a Laotian forest for your morning tea, you'll be on level 4....master.

Me too, I would leave right now if I had a chance. There is nothing better than Korean food and the culture is so rich that you can spend many years to discover it. Not being in the capitol with plenty of fellow expats makes things far more interesting. Plus: You are at the beach.

The problem is I can't go, my other half is going alone. We have three dogs and a parrot. Uprooting them for 15 months (the length ot the posting) is just not feasible for many reasons.

After I saw a lovely house to rent near the beach with a super view I was really disappointed.

You can't give your pets to close family (maybe in the UK) to foster? We did this years ago to our cousins and the dog loved it (giant garden).

Family is not an option, already considered that. I wish it were.
