| | | Flatmoving. Who could drive my stuff up to Berlin ?
As I am leaving college I will move away from Switzerland, St. Gallen to Berlin.
Me and my stuff.
I am looking for somebody who has a van (if not I´d rent one), a clean drivers licence and who could drive my stuff and boxes up to Berlin.
We can talk about the price...
If there is anybody out there, then please make me a sign !
Thanks very much in advance !

It´s going to be around end of November.
Driving time about 8hours (750km), but all of us know that traffic james are a a very common issue on the German highways...
Renting a van from for one day (or two ?), oneway, costs about 600Franks + petrol and highwayfees.
You should be an experienced driver, also in snow, and be used to these long travels.
The return from Berlin would though be on your charges.

I have a clean licence, have driven around Australia and have been driving in Europe for 10 years. How much would you pay me for the driving time? | Quote: | | | | | It´s going to be around end of November.

Well, bascily I rather thought of somebody who anyway drives up to Germany from time to time or wants to do a visit.
Guys, I am very aware that I would´nt "just let you drive my stuff up and done dusted"... So calm down, ok !

you should have better asked for a car share.
im german, berlin, and i drove that way a lot of times plus i have local knowledge and i could get peeps to help you (for a vegeterian pizza) etc.
but im not paying the trip back myself.
maybe i should tell you in advance that a van rented in switzerland and left in e.g. germany costs you the rental company return fee which is about half the cash of your rental. so youd be far better off with paying the trip back for any driver that takes on the job...

Don't be so cruel.
This fellow is just trying to rip off anyone out there that is desperate to get ripped off ! We should not blame him !
Making jokes about him is enough!

If you paid fuel costs and gave me the van rental fee you were talking about we might be able to sort something out, with me using a van I supply. This is a might, can't be 100% sure at the moment.
I have owned a couple of vans when in the UK, and driven London-Berlin with one before. I have also driven Zurich Berlin in an estate car in January, lots of snow around then.
I plan to buy an (older) low mileage LHD van in CH in November.
So end November/First week of December might be possible.
Does anyone have ideas how customs clearance would work? I have never driven into/out of CH in a van. Only UK/France/Germany. I would want the owner of the stuff to be there in the van at the border crossing to Germany.

Hi Nixi, My final destination would be Tegel area, North, so I don't think exact location makes much difference. I guess it depends how much stuff we are talking about too, would two loads fit in, etc.
It might help Cevahe cut costs down a bit too if there is space. I guess the two of you would need to sort something out.
