Yes, you are correct on all points! My only other advice would be (if you are non-EU like me) to put that your B permit is family-based on your CV should you ever look for another job. If employers see you are non-EU and just 'B Permit' they may mistakenly think they will have to take care of the renewal and toss your CV aside for fear of added expense and paperwork.
