Wanted: A Zurisac compatible dustbin!

Does such a thing exist? I have a normal tall and narrow brabantia for my kitchen and you always have to remove the bag to get the proper width to get it full. Makes a bin pointless a lot of the time. I'm looking for a bin that's the same shape at a 35 litre Zurisac so I can fill, tie and remove at once. Too much to ask? Any tips? What do you Zurchers do?

Ours fits the kitchen cabinet under the sink and is the brand Müllex . Not a very attractive name, but does the job perfectly. Yes, the 35l bags fit in nicely.

Did you or the missus pick the bin?

(age old female selection of 'Design over Practicality')

I can't think of any long narrow plastic bags.

I do have an idea for you though:
  1. Why not just use normal Coop plastic bags (that are obviously too short) in the top.
  2. Tie them up when they are full.
  3. Drop them into the bottom of the bin (sealed).
  4. THEN when the bin is full, dump all the sealed plastic bags into a 35L Züri sack.
  5. Dispose thoughtfully.
The theory is that the same amount of rubbish stays in the bin for the same time. It's sealed and clean so shouldn't make the bin too dirty.

or, just get another bin.

I bought it online! *self harms in shame*. I thought any shape would do as long as the literage was correct. I'll go with your idea, but it'd be nice to get a normal bin that fits the bag.

Brabantia make their own long, narrow bags to fit the bins. Which are fine but of course no good when you have to use Zurisacs.

OK fair enough.

I would probably make the same mistake.

So we can at least conclude that the "Züri sack" is indeed the limiting factor here.

I guess the moral of the story is:
  • Take a Züri sack with you when purchasing a bin.
I can't believe that a plastic bag is the limiting factor of choice....

.... Hello Switzerland !!!

Re: Wanted: A Zurisac compatible dustbin!

Our bin was fixed under the sink when we lived in the city. Was a bitch to make the top fit so I empathise.

Lots of choices for cool looking bins though - check out interio or Pfister (sale on). Am sure you'll find one that fits. Bring a zürisack just in case

perfect züri-sack bin?

Is there anywhere that sells a bin that fits
Züri-Sacks, size 35 l? Did not see any bins
on stadt-zuerich.ch. Ikea has 40 l bins, while
Coop and Migros have 30 l bins. Just looking
for the perfect bin.

Re: perfect züri-sack bin?

The Müllex bins that fit under your sink are what you need. Does your apartment not have one fitted?

Thanks. And now you mention Müllex, I found an existing thread on this topic that my earlier search did not turn up -
