don't think I'd buy one from an auction site, unless they allowed me to take it to a dealer and get them to check it out first.

Search the ones that come with original box and documents, this way you can go and have the dealer check it. If it's a fake, you contact the buyer for refund or complain to ricardo that you payed for a counterfeit watch with illegal documents. As ricardo keeps records of the whereabouts of a seller it won't be very easy to ditch that kind of a scam.

But many of the sellers who sell high end watches are happy for you to come by and check it out before you buy or even to go together to the dealer.

Depends on their condition. You can get either watch for around 2300 CHF from a reputable "grey market" retailer brand new, which will typically represent a 30% discount to normal retail price.
