Good gift to bring for an expat (Brit)

I'll be in Basel Friday morning, and wil be attending a dinner hosted by a Brit who has been living in Basel for several years.

Thought I'd bring a "lighthearted" gift of some sort.

Definitely bringing some of the Salt & Vinegar Crisps (US chips). But maybe there's something else that would be a hit?

Suggestions?

Remember, I do have a limited amount of luggage room, so size does matter...

Marmite
PG Tips
Marmelade
Head & Shoulders

are typical answers, but more appropriate:

Fawlty Towers box set
Current UK top 3 (make him endure what his country loves)

Bearing in mind you don't have access to those:

uuummm...

Sun Protection Factor 50 - just so he knows what the packaging looks like! (might actually need it for a ski trip)
Seriously tho - nothing is better than getting a decent bottle of wine from duty free to save for a decent meal later on that visit.

Fawlty Towers may be a possibilty....

All else fails, wine it is.

Really did want to do something a bit far from the norm though. ANYONE can do wine....

Get an excellent bottle from the year he moved to CH - he'll appreciate the irony and it'll be something significant to think about when you toast his well-being: that the wine has been maturing during his time there.

Definitely second the motion for Fawlty Towers - I've just got the boxed set and now life is sooooooo much better
