| | | Left my bag on the bus!
So, today I was in the bus on my way home and guess what?.. yes, I left my bag in the bus. the thing is that this bus goes on a very short route so im hoping I get it back. I have called sbb and they told me to wait until tomorrow because if someone turned it up, they will bring it to the lost and found zurich until tomorrow after 10.30am. Wish me luck please, Im trying to keep me calmed even tho' i made a panic call already to LIB and IG who already advised me to go to the police, I did call the police and they told me to go first tomorrow after 10.30 am to see if it appear in the lost and found. If not then go and make the report.

I hope you have some identity card or something in that so person who gets it can reach you or fundburo office can trace you with that.
Last year we also lost a bag, having sbb card in it so easily got traced and got back in 2 days. | | This user would like to thank fig for this useful post: | |

It happened to me once, a few hours before leaving the country and all my papers were in my bag...
I simply waited for the bus to come back after turning at the terminus, and I got terribly lucky: someone had given my bag to the driver!
Don't give up all hope, good luck!

when I first came here I left a laptop on the bus. I was so panicked. I realized it only as soon as the bus had pulled away, too. I went to the first bus I saw and told the driver the situation. He got on his radio and talked to the driver of the bus I left the bag on.
Amazingly, nobody had touched it, claimed it, turned it in, or anything. It was sitting right where I left it. The driver held it for me, and I caught up with him several stops into his route, and about 45 minutes later. A nice end to my panicked evening, and one of the more positive experiences I've had in Switzerland.
Chin up!!! I have faith you'll get your bag back.

On a more serious note. I have everything there my mexican and swiss ID, kids ID, insurance cards and because i just went to a meeting where i needed, I also have my mexican passport there. So the adress is all over my bag. Money not at all, just the card and also empty so im not worried about money and i dont think someone wants to keep the bag as it costed me 5 chf in a broki
But im an old fashion kid of human and i still keep all appointments on my agenda, hate to use my phone for other than call and browsing EF So now all my appointments not only nails but medical, pediatrician etc are there. if tomorrow is not there it awaits me a long holliday making calls all over to find out when i have my appointments.

Dear coconut, I trust in karma. You will most certainly get your bag back.
I've told this story many moons ago but I left my bag sitting on the bench at the bus stop apposite the Glattcentrum, a day before I was due to fly to England for a funeral.
To cut a long story short, I had some very precious things in it that no amount of money could ever replace. A non-Swiss person saw it and was first afraid to pick it up in case someone accused her of stealing it. Anyway she did and took it to the information desk in the Glatt.
I'd jumped off the bus at the next stop and run like the wind (well as much as a smoker can!) back to the Glatt, as I got to information I saw my bag sitting on the desk, my knees went like jelly and I could have fainted from relief.
I phoned the woman and she was so concerned I was a mum with little children and would suffer if someone else had taken it and kept it, that I cried all over again. Anyway there are good people in this world and I think you are going to get your bag back.

so sorry coconut. quite unnecessary in this already stressful period of the year (maybe one of the reasons why we don't have our wits about us as we usually would )
I would have blocked my cards FIRST THING!!
as for the bag, passports and the agenda etc, I'm pretty sure you'll get it back (this being switzerland)
all the best and let us know!

I still have the hope it will be there as a separate item maybe after they realize there was NO money in the bag they decide to give the wallet with the IDs. I mean I really dont want to go trough asking for another auslander ausweis ID etc.

I just had a bit of cash in there, but I also had my ID and the kids', my driving license, insurance card, and all the things like photos and memories that no money can buy...
It's such a hassle to reorder all your ID stuff, poor Coco *hugs*

arghh coconut, bad luck. Really sorry to hear about the hassle of cancelling your cards and losing the money.
Dont beat yourself up too much over it in any case, not very helpful I know I wish I could do more to help other than sending you a big virtual hug at the moment x
