Ladies out there - what perfume do you use?
I am at a loss for a new one have tried many, but to no avail.
I normally like the fruity, fresh kind for daytime - Clinique 'Happy' or Dior 'Addict Shine' - but don't want to buy these yet again. I don't like ozone smells, overly floral or cloying.
Please help!
I always love meeting fellow perfume lovers

What I use depends on the season. Right now, it's more chypres, woods, leathers and spicy fragrances. Some of my current favorites are classics such as Guerlain's Mitsouko and Chamade, Caron Tabac Blond, Chanel Cuir de Russie, Coco & 28 rue Cambon, YSL Opium and other, newer scents like Sisley Eau de Soir, Frederic Malle Noir Épices, Agent Provocateur and Serge Lutens Louve, Chergui and Cuir Mauresque.

In the warmer months, I switch to more green, floral and etheral scents, like Chanel No. 19 and Beige, Bond No. Park Avenue, Hermes Jardin sur le Toit, Hiris, et al.

Always in season is Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere. I've gone through a few bottles of this over the last couple of years.

You can probably find most of these at Osswald's in Zurich. They have one of the best selections in the city. Globus and Parfumerie Douglas on the Bahnhofstrasse also have great selections.

Re: Perfume

Anything by Bond or Creed. High end, low alcohol. Scent lasts long.

Fleur de Thé Rose de Bulgare is my favorite Creed. I love Green Irish Tweed on my hub. But for Bond, OMG, too many -- and SO bad for my wallet

Park Avenue, Astor Place, Scent of Peace, High Line, Bryant Park, New Haarlem...

Have you ever visited any of their boutiques in NY?

Another favourite, that I had forgotten I had, is Lancome Hypnose. My husband first bought it for me as he thought it was 'my smell' and, I must admit, it really suits me. It is quite powerful, needs to be used sparingly, and is especially suited to the colder months.

Re: Perfume

Anybody ever tried arab perfumes? Picked up a bottle of rose petal perfume in Dubai and was pleasantly surprised as arab perfumes are oil based rather than alcohol based and tend to linger. Lots of musky, oriental perfumes as well but I have never seen them on sale in Europe.

Yes, I used to put rose water in the henna mixed when I colored my hair.

I also make little bags with coton dip in rose water to put in the drawers. It makes the clothes smells really good.

Nil, Enaj is referring to something else...its called as Ittar/Attar; they have an oil base and linger really a long time. Even rose will be there but not in the form of rose water.
My town, back home, is popular for manufacturing these. I think I have one tiny precious bottle with me here, to remind me of the place!

Re: Perfume

Select scents from Creed or Bond. Other perfumes mentioned here from designers (Dior, Chanel, etc), contain very high levels of alcohol and are not true scents.

Creed created signature scents for celebs, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Prince of Saudi Arabia, and so forth) and only began selling them to the general market in the past few decades.

Guaranteed between Creed and Bond you will find a unique long lasting scent. I have about 3 of both and rotate every year.
