Hi all dear members,

I am soon moving from Zurich to Bern and wanted to know few things about Bern which would help for me to start there.

1.) How is the area near Bern railway station.(Lorriane). I would stay there.
2.) Whhich are the nearest swimming pool to Lorraine area (code 3300) ?
3.) Any Indian shop to buy spices,etc near Bern SBB region or near Lorraine ?
4.) Is the area near lorraine safe to travelling late in night for women like till 8-9 PM ? In Zurich I had not seen any problem like that for my wife.

I would really appreciate any help on these topics.

I don't know the Lorraine area that well but I can give you some information.

Hallenbad Wyler is not very far from the Lorraine. There are indoor and outdoor pools. In the summer the outdoor pools are free and very pleasant. In the summer there is also the Lorrainebad by the side of the Aare, or the Aare itself for swimming.

There is an Indian grocery store, Aggarwal, in the Schwanengasse near the main train station.

As I say I haven't spent that much time in the Lorraine but as a woman in my thirties I wouldn't think twice about going anywhere in Bern around 8-9pm. (Maybe someone will jump in and tell me where I can be murdered at that hour.)

Zurich is not very far from Bern. Why not come visit and check things out?
