Needed - Tailoring Shop - To stitch my Jacket

Dear EF People,

My new jacket was teared and I need to stitch.
Bought from C&A in discount sale.
It got teared below the ankles to 3 Centimeters
I found a tailoring shop near 768 bus stop Zurich Oerlikon.
It seems that they charge almost the price of my jacket.
Please help me to find tailoring shop (inside Zurich )or someone who can help me to
get stitched for affordable rate.

What kind of jacket have you purchased that it hangs below your ankles.. Is it a Johnny Cash style jacket??.
As this is Switzerland I hardly think that it can be repaired for a reasonable price, Unless someone gets a private individual to do so... You might have to dump it and just purchase a new one

Re: Needed - Tailoring Shop - To stitch my Jacket

You have several options:

1 - Your mother in law (if you have one.)
2 - In Zurich Oerlikon (center eleven) there is a "schneiderei" I never used their services.
3-Also in Jelmoli (Bahnhofstrasse) they have a "änderungsatelier" I paid 25chf to get my trousers fixed (just in the lenght). It hurts to give away so much money...but the option number one is out of question now...so I am considering in buying a sewing machine and do it by myself...

Use your next Texaid clothing collection to send it to the third world - ankle-length jackets are still in there - and buy a new shorter one...

Re: Needed - Tailoring Shop - To stitch my Jacket

If you bought it from C&A in a discount sale then it is likely that the repair cost will be a disproportionate amount of the value of it. If it was me, I would do it myself. But then I am in touch with my stitching-side...

Sarav, surely your mother taught you to thread a needle. Even my northern bastard husband can sew a button on. It is painful (but funny) to watch.
Go and buy yourself a little sewing kit. You'll thank me in years to come when you have saved yourself a fortune in adjustments.
by the way, did you mean your jacket had ripped from the wrist rather than ankle?

There is a very good tailoring service (price wise at least) on the first floor of the big migros centre behind jemoli. I paid 25chf to have two trousers altered.
