Car Boot Sale

Hi

Having moved house, imported everything that was in storage from the UK (sorry have already eaten all the revels...) we now have loads of stuff that we forgot we had and no longer need... My friend has also got a storeroom of things she wants to get rid of.... So we were wondering if there is a Swiss version of the car boot sale. As some of the things are small / fragile / large we don't really want to go on ricardo and there is a lot so don't want to do individual posts we thought this would be the best way to do it

If there isn't anything like this how would I go about arranging it - a church hall and using tables??? -and would anyone be interesting in coming for bargains or selling things??

S

Re: Car Boot Sale

The only thing I have ever seen here are Flohmarkts (flea markets) but I have never seen them advertised beforehand so I have no idea how you can arrange a table for yourself...I just happened to walk by a few when they were in full swing

The other big fleamarket at Burkliplatz is only from May to September.

Re: Car Boot Sale

Another idea would be, to either announce it via small ads in the Anzeiger or at the local coop and Migros stores messageboards.

Try to hold a 'car boot' sale from your home.

Set a fixed day and and a time, say Saturday afternoon from 1 to 6 pm
HAUSRÄUMUNGSVERKAUF , alles muss weg followed by the address.
You'd be surprised at how many ppl turn up to these!

Add specific info on the ad, such as the address and your cell phone.
Maybe it's possible to set up a makeshift stall in front of the house you live, or you could empty your cellar compartment for the afternoon and put everything you want to sell in there ( in case you don't want strangers in your flat)

Re: Car Boot Sale

Take pictures of the items and sell them on here.

I'll have the 2 spinny, wind-up, revolving, jumping, boingy things.

Re: Car Boot Sale

Yup - revels all went - a large bag - though it did make me feel sick as I ate so many... Should have put more in...

OK - 2 springy, boingy things - 26 rappen each - bargain
