I thought I'd share with you this most Germanic of musical programs. It's been running for the last 30 years and is held all over the German speaking areas of Europe, and sometimes in places outside of that space that Germans like to go on holiday to. A true institution, it's a big hit in Switzerland, warranting Saturday prime time on SF Eins (which isn't saying much, I admit).

It features folk/light entertainment performers that are rock stars in their own domain, as well as newcomers and can be incredibly camp/kitsch. I find it hilarious to watch and you don't need to understand a word of what they're saying to get into it.

It's on right now on SF1, so get a nice glass of wine and settle in for a good time (I should have posted this an hour ago...).

Me? ... after the foottie, I switched to BGT for a laff.
Although right now, RTS (TSR) 1 have got a badly dubbed Sharon Stone just about to uncross and recross her legs.

I always love it. Especially the awful playbacking is fantastic.
