Hello!! Does any know of any cooking/baking classes available in the Zurich area, for English speaking people? I already know how to cook but I enjoy taking classes for fun. If anyone knows of anything please let me know...thanks!!!

It is in Zug - so it is not too far from Zurich.

For those who have been to the laughing lemon classes - do people go in singles or couples & groups? I want to go but my husband travels a lot and its hard to co-ordinate with girlfriends & babysitters

Hi Sharon,

People come to our classes in many different ways...I would say an average class has half single attendees and half couples, but that does change depending on the class. All of our classes are very small (usually less than 10 people), so there is plenty of individual attention. In most cases, the classes are a mix of very different nationalities, and people always enjoy getting to know someone new... The atmosphere is quite relaxed and very easy going...singles never really feel uncomfortable... If you have an interest in food and wine and enjoy meeting others with the same interest, then our classes provide a good opportunity to experience something different - at least we hope they do!

Thanks for the question...it's always great to see young people excited about food. As for your question...we do not offer courses in baking, so we can't help you out. If you can make it to Zürich, here is a company that offers baking classes - although they are in German: Backschule by Wüst

Perhaps they could help you out if you get in touch with them...

i teach indian vegetarian cooking in klubschule oerlikon and also in wallisellen (in german). but some of my friends wanted the course like you in english. i am planning a course of indian cooking in wallisellen. i hire the kitchen from the gemeinde and take from 10-12 people. let me know if you are interested. it would be most probably on a saturday or according to the availablitiy of the kitchen.

www.la-cuisine.ch have just started offering classes in English.
The classes are run by a highly experienced American teacher, Amy, and I've heard that her classes are very informative and great fun. You get to sit down afterwards and enjoy what you have made, so it's also a brilliant way of meeting new people.

Hi I am running a sushi basics (NOT JUST RAW FISH!)cooking class for mums who can't get away at other times, and for those who live too far from Zurich to join an evening class. The class will be on Saturday April 25th from 16.00 - 18.30ish. Afterwards you can stay and get to know some new folks over a glass of wine, or take your sushi home and show off your achievements. Food looks great - unfortunately they only seem to do day times and they are the wrong side of Zurich (if there is such a thing) for me. Will have to wait till I get canned at work! (Am referring to post by LindsayW)
