Places in Zurich to study/read in the evening

The evening is the time of the day when I'm most productive when studying and/or reading. I was wondering if anybody knows any nice/inspiring place in Zurich for studying and reading in the evening. I'm thinking of libraries and cafés in particular. It doesn't have to be a quiet place. I think that most libraries are closed in the evening. Thanks for any pointers!

Quick edit: wifi would be nice (although not absolutely necessary)

Ohhhh, It is really annoying when only one person occupy a whole table, and 3-4 seats, and having one coffee, and sitting there few hours.... Grrrrr!

If there isnt any other space, I always ask them to make some. Just like on the train. Then I take a good nosy at their work

Sometimes strike up a conversation too. Can be done.

Good pointer. I actually already go to ETH Zentrum every now and then, though it's mainly when I want to study or read "technical stuff" without expecting to need internet access. Does anybody know if it's possible to apply for internet access when there (ideally Wifi), as an external? Apart from that, the main issue with ETH is that I don't find it a nice and cozy/inspiring place in which to read for pleasure...

It definitely is possible to plug it into an electricity socket, if that's what you meant. As for internet, I don't know... as I mentioned above.

Re: Places in Zurich to study/read in the evening

Hi, I am also looking for a place to study after work, say from 6pm until 9pm, preferably near Bahnhofstrasse or Enge. The problem is, libraries seem to be closed at that time already :/ Does anybody know a good place, apart from Starbucks and ETH?
