Sorry it's much more fun to kill any living creature invading their garden.

My thanks for posting Clint Eastwood - awesome guy and excellent movie. Hell is breaking loose, and he just says, "Get off my lawn!!!". Classic.

(sorry for the OT)

I use pellets, I'm afraid. I don't want them to suffer, but I do want them out of my plants, they are costing me a fortune to replace

I don't have a single lettuce left, the buggers
I use pellets in my herb garden too but they get moldy... weird...

Why you don't leave those slugs without willing to harm them?

At worse, move them somewhere else-

If they eat your vegetables, whatever then try to put some protections, rather than necessarily killing or using chemicals...

Its just slugs after all, they necessary for other animals such as hedgehog.

No wonder there's not so many of them anymore, everyone's killing and poisoning thing just because they have living thing ...in their garden!

I have another solution for you, put cement everywhere. That way they will be no more of those extremely annoying creatures.
"jaja"

We have hedgehogs in the garden and love them.
Move them somewhere else? were talking about hundreds at the time!!!

I picked out 52 slugs from 3 plant plots. They destroyed all my flowers. I'm sorry but one or two I could let pass but 50 + no way. Blue pellets came out I'm afraid!!

Re: Slugs!!!

Apparently there are entire websites devoted to saving your garden from slugs; here's a good one I found while trying to understand why salt dehydrates slugs so quickly (yeah yeah - as a little boy, I was only interested in the what of this one, not the why!).

If slugs are anything like snails, they have been found to have a homing instinct and can find their way back from up to 300 metres away.

Our chickens love the slugs! Get yourself some chickens, that way you have fewer slugs and delicious fresh eggs too!

Re: Slugs!!!

Ugh - I saw the biggest slug I have ever seen in our backyard. Guy was like 7 inches long and an inch wide.

Here is what I did in my garden in NYC - the beer trap helps and I caught many slugs. Best around plants- copper. I went to the hardware store and asked for thin copper like for plumbing to put around the base of plants. Slugs HATE it. There is a chemical reaction in their body with copper that doesn't let them cross it. This is an old gardeners trick.
