Hi all

Does anyone have a recommendation about where I could get the leather soles on a pair of shoes replaced. I want the soles replaced with leather, as the original soles were/are not the rubber glued on replacement that everywhere I have taken the shoes to so far has offered.

Try in Kreuzstrasse in Seefeld, there is a guy who is doing such a thing in his store. Tram nr 2 and 4. Good luck!

Personally, my favourite shoe repair man is located at:

betweeen 33-35 Kreutzstrasse, Zurich.
He's just opposite the Denner (on the opposite side of the street near the corner of Zimmergasse strasse)
Take tram 4 or 2 to "Kreutzstrasse" tram stop and walk up the hill.

There will be little ornamental shoes and you walk sort of 'down' to the door where there is a sign over the door that says: "Schumacherei"

The guy is the bomb, and all the women at my company use this man.

He turned an old pair of boots of mine into something brand new.

That's the same guy I mentioned...... OP, he's the best.

Small update incase anyone else searches for shoe repairs...

Took the shoes to the guy recommended above and he did an amazing job! They look like new again, really an expert job.

What sort of price range? If you don't mind me asking of course...

He replaced leather soles on a pair of my husbands shoes, as well as replacing the heel part. He also put a thin layer of cork under the sole for extra comfort/padding/buoyancy? In addition he put a 2mm piece of leather round the base of the shoe/new sole so it looks like one piece of leather sole not 2 parts glued together (hope that makes some kind of sense the way I have described it...)

Total cost was 135 chf.
