Anyone looking for a drummer?

I've only been here for a month so far and i'm already missing the band i was in ... i've been playing drums for a while now. Don't have a set here since I live in Zuri in an aptmt but i have my snare/sticks/cymbals with me.

Any bands out there looking for a drummer? This kinda thing exist here, you know, "live music"?

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

what sort of stuff you into? i'll have a jam with you one day, see how it goes.

was just thinking i need a drummer on the weekend. (i've got a lonely gretsch, and takamine at home with a vox amp....... i'm sure we could come up with something fun to do with all that.)

Terry might also be keen? (Tezza, want to come for a sing along mate?)

PM me.

cheers

Nic

I might be interested too, depending on what kind of stuff you are into. The fact you play a Gretsch says something positive

That sounds like a good idea, assuming that Terry is playing tomorrow night....

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

Well I've just bashed my way through 3 tunes to a half decent standard so I guess I'll be there, cold 'n all

Where could we go afterwards? Bear in mind I'll be surrounded by fans, lmfao.

As no amateurs are going to be Talackering on Wed night , I suggest tomorrow night is a good night for some Christmas party preamble, so I suggest you put the event in the calendar if it isnt already...

How can you tell the band is playing on a level stage?

The drummer is drooling out of both corners of his mouth....

Was one step ahead of you

In all seriousness my friend Jamie and his friend Vincent are in Zurich with work on Tues / Weds and so they're coming out for some drinks, therefore I suspect that the chance of a post-open-mic "jam" session might not be on the cards sadly

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

no intention of a jam session...... especially after being blown away by your show! (just wanted to meet daveA and also Mr Beeblebrox (Xaphod)............

although if we get you really spanked and convince you to busk in the HB that could be cool too.

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

Ah! Dudes! Sorry was at German lessons whilst this thread was kicking

I'm totally up for jamming, whenever, wherever, as soon as possible. Open-mic sounds awesome. Playing in someone's basement sounds awesome too. Level of difficulty: have only snare + cymbals + sticks, so you'd need to lend me your kit. I'm an experienced musician. I won't beat the crap outta them.

So me... i've been playing about 11 years, in various bands. Last band i was in was a cover band, we played a bunch of places in Seattle. Did the Space Needle a bunch of times - fun gig but crappy load in/out... I play all sorts of material: rock, prog, pop, jazz. Not too good at blues but love to try. Absoutely crap at anything latin (samba, bossa, all of them) - it's just not my bag.

Favorite bands are all over the place: Rush, Zero 7, Muse, Radiohead, MuteMath, Caribou, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Dream Theater, Incubus, Killers, loads. I'm pretty good at picking anything up by ear too after playing in a cover band for a long time. I can play with a clicktrack if necessary, and i've had some experience at sequencing / electro drums... okay i think that's enough braggin' for now

So uh, where's this thing (open mic? jam?) tomorrow? I'm totally in.

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

Sure, pick one of the most technically difficult bands to emulate, drum-wise!

... can't play much Rush... that's not what i've covered But sure love their stuff.

And i'm realizing that when "Gretsch" was mentioned above it may have been referencing a guitar. I of course assumed a drum kit. So there may be no drum kit in existence here...

Re: Anyone looking for a drummer?

ahh yeah, by Gretsch, i did mena guitar, not drum kit....... for some reason when you said snare, sticks and cymbals i assumed "basic set" (with a snare stand, a ride, crash etc.) doh!

anyway this is where the open mic night is at ........ come along.

Open Mic night, Bling Bar, Zurich
