Cooking Oil Waste

I have tried searching past threads, but could not find any that answers my question.

How do I dump used cooking oil?
I understand that throwing it down the drain may not be a good idea as this could lead to clogging.
Are there special waste collection for cooking oil in Zurich?

TIA

Re: Cooking Oil Waste

I don't know if they collect it in Zurich buf what you have to look for is Altöl. You can collect it in a bottle.

Re: Cooking Oil Waste

Your Town Hall (Gemeindeverwaltung) should publish a "Waste Disposal Calendar" (Abfallkalender) with information for residents on how, when and where waste is handled / collected in your area. It might be worth you getting hold of one.

Re: Cooking Oil Waste

Down the drain it goes for me...

Unless it's a huge quantity, something over a litre maybe?

Re: Cooking Oil Waste

If it's just regular cooking oil and not a lot. I soak it in paper towels and send out with my trash which goes to the place where they burn everything for energy. Never would I put in down a drain, If its a lot pour, it after it cools into a bottle or plastic bottle and put in trash or recycle place.
