For future reference, anyone in Lausanne for new years should visit the cathedral of Lausanne. They have a pre midnight organ concert, free, and right afterwards the cathedral tower was lit up in red and white smoke poured out as the bells rang. Also, fireworks on one side of the cathedral. Everyone brought their own champagne bottles and corks were flying left and right. A very festive atmosphere.

Happy new year from me too hope all your dreams come true this year

The forum has been busy during my absence! A late happy new year to you all.

This time I celebrated in Amsterdam where the fireworks at New Year's Eve are much more... accoustic and dangerous than here People spontaneously transform side streets into no go-areas and light up ten minutes worth of bangers. Drunkards who can't throw farther than their toe-caps don't percieve this as a reason to stop the fun and I've even observed a cyclist who lighted and threw a banger while driving freehanded!

Then we went to the party of a friend-of-a-friend where much beer and prosecco was served but no water or cola sighted, and got some ideas for new year's resolutions.
