where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

Hi All,
I'm off shopping tomorrow for some maternity cloths, any idea where to start in Zurich. I know H&M do a maternity range but was hoping for a bit higher quality. Internet searches arent showing anything on either the german or english search engines, is there a different word for maternity clothes in german/swiss german?

Thanks very much

Re: where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

If you are looking for top quality then head for Formes on Renweg, they do great maternity clothes but are quite pricey. They don't look like traditional matarnity clothes though so are a pleasure to wear. Another great place is by the Bahnhof in Horgen but I can't remember the name of it.

Edit: I found the shop in horgen; it's called 9months.

Yes, you can search for 'umstandsmode' and you should get plenty of hits -- add 'Zürich' to the search words also.

Have fun shopping!

Uhhhh ohhh. Are there no Gap, Old Navy, or Target in Switzerland? All those have such great maternity clothes at a mid level price.

I have a feeling I'm going to be doing a lot of online shopping then.

I'm going to be listing all of my gently used maternity clothes for sale on the Forum in the coming days. I've also got a lot of plus sized coats and sweaters as well as relatively nice evening wear that would work as maternity clothes. Look for them to be listed by early next week, or if you're looking for something specific PM me and I'll let you know before you go shopping if I have it.

Re: where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

In Zurich, Kreuzstrasse (tram 2 or 4 a couple of stops after Bellevue):

Tiger Fink - at first sight it's a children's toy and clothes shop. They have a beautiful selection of baby and kids clothes. In the back they have a large selection of maternitywear. Very nice for gifts too...

Re: where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

Also in Zurich centre, opposite to the Interio shop, there is the United Colour of Benetton, which sells hippy Maternity clothes as well as trendy baby clothes. If you have any contacts in UK, then you can buy some very stylish maternity clothes from www.topshop.com. I bought most of my pregnant clothes there and people kept asking me where i got them from. So have fun!

Just on the subject of prams, we thought the 3 wheel pram looked cool but regretted not getting a 4 wheeler. The 3 wheeler has almost tipped a couple of times while riding over rough pavements and climbing steps / getting on and off the tram. It could just be us being clumsy but thought would pass on the experience anyway.

For maternity tops you are lucky because this season seems to have loads of loose fitting smock tops which, while they aren't specifically maternity, would skim over the bump nicely.

I also bought a bump band when I was pregnant http://www.myrubyrose.co.uk/?gclid=C...FRzqXgodS14yMA which allowed me to wear my usual clothes much longer because you can leave the trousers or skirt unfastened under the band.

I'm such a cheapskate...

Re: where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

Just received the latest Vertbaudet catalogue a couple of days ago. There are some lovely maternity clothes in there, not to mention the baby's and kids' clothes. A good choice for "posh" parties and christenings too. Check out www.verbaudet.ch . I've ordered from them before, and though some things seem a little pricey, the quality is very good, lots of detail and some good offers on combinations.

Start with the bare basics! As you go along and baby grows you will think of new things to get. It'll give you a good reason to get out!
Make sure you consider the seasons when giving baby clothes (or buying for your own). My little girl was given beautiful summer dress to wear - size 6 months. She was born in May - at 6 months it was November, cold and dreary! Needless to say, she never wore it and now it's too small...

Re: where sells maternity clothes in zurich?

Odd funny question. A little OT, but it is about babies.

Are baby showers comming in CH? Back home they have become elaborate affairs. Someone I know is have what she called a party in the future. I have begun to make her a baby blanket, but wondering if that gift is now not enough.
