Forget it - not worth the hassle. It is like going to New York on holiday - but travelling to the arse end of New Jersey to shop (to save a few $$ on tax) - or to go to Cheesecake Factory (there isn't one in Manhatten).

Germany is fine if you know EXACTLY what you are looking for and know it is in stock etc.
(Unless you consider shopping a hobby)

9 years here - and only gone abroad to shop (only to shop) once - and that was last year when I was off work and bored - and needed a car load of camping/running kit.
