A friend of mine who lives in Basel pointed me in the direction of this site

Basically I'm staying in Bern for one night - Friday 13 June 2008 for the Holland v France Euro 2008 game

I'm looking for a room of any sort in Bern for that night. I have searched everywhere for somewhere to stay, but everywhere seems to be completely booked up.

Cheaper the better obviously, but if it's expensive then so be it

Can anyone help?

You can try the Landhaus or the Glocke if you are looking for somewhere to lay your head after a night on the raz.

You can also camp if you get really desperate, they will have a special site for 4000 tents. Or, if the train still run late, catch one to a nearby city like Fribourg. Check sbb.ch site to see if they will have extra trains.

Thanks all, have fired off a few e-mails. It's a simple equation though with regards to the ratio of people visiting to hotel rooms

I didn't think to check earlier, will be trying all available options, including late trains to other towns / cities

I am thinking about renting my spare room out (or even the whole flat, depending on how lucrative it would be), on the lake in Zürich during the european cup. Has anyone else had this idea, or is there anyone reading this that would maybe interested?

I've managed to get a room now, I was sent a link to a site with a load of Bern hotels and e-mailed them all!

staying at the hotel waldhorn, fortunately well placed between centre of bern and stadium

Hi I am sure I could put up withsome one for one night.
In Krauchthal 15 to 20 mins from stadium local bus runs to Bolligen
depending on KO time.

Have you tried www.couchsurfers.com? You might get lucky there. I would offer accomodation but I already have a full house!
