| | | Cheap hotels in Zürich
Hello,
I will be staying one or two nights in Zürich (starting on Saturday 26), and need a hotel to stay in. My only requirements are a bed to sleep and a shower for the morning. I have stayed at the Bristol (near the train station) but their current rates are rather too high for my liking. Can anybody recommend a hotel, hostal or bead and breakfast for me?
Thanks and best regards.

I believe the Youth Hostel is only for those with valid student ID.
How about the Easy Hotel?

I think the post title is a good example of an oxymoron if any.

Where ever you end up going, tell them when you're booking you don't want breakfast included. Should save you around CHF20 before you begin.
Then tell them you've seen the price on some website for CHF15 cheaper and you'd "rather book directly than the middle man". It's quite likely the receptionist won't care less and is instructed to beat online prices, so will give you a cheaper offer.
Always say friends have stayed there and recommended it to you, they thought it was great, etc. Also, you're likely to be travelling quite a lot to Zurich over the next few months... lay it on thick.
To some it's pennies, but it can make a difference if you're on a budget.

There is a bed and breakfast which is only 2 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and only just off the Bahnhofstrasse. I stayed there with friends and had a great stay, great location, friendly staff and easy to walk to see all the sights.
Their website is at http://www.sleepinzurich.ch/4394.html
Hope this helps.

ZURICH YOUTH HOSTEL
Its VERY basic, no frills!!!!
But its modern, clean, warm, has a nice area to sit and watch TV/play pool. Serves a VERY basic continental breakfast and the meals are basically a random carbohydrate and a random sauce....maybe a bit of salad.
Despite its no frills offer.. I still highly recommend it.
Its 15 minutes to town on public transport, but it offers an airport pick up and drop if needed. (at a very reasonable cost). | Quote: | | | | | There's neither an age limit nor a student rebate for the Youth Hostel. The comfort level might not be everybody's cup of tea, of course. | | | | | |

I stayed at the Hotel Villette a while ago, 10 mins walk from main station, very friendly, quite basic, includes breakfast, could be a bit noisy outside so bring ear plugs, need to make sure you arrive by 11pm else they will have gone home (I'm not joking). +41 44 251 23 35.

I stayed at the Zic Zac Rock Hotel over Christmas and the New Year. It is just about the cheapest hotel you will find.
It is clean, warm and comfortable. Not all rooms have en-suite. It is also very central. It is actually cheaper than individual rooms in the Youth hostel. http://www.kramergastronomie.ch/zicz...page=hotel.asp |
