Paint, no longer available

I needed to buy some paint today for a painting I planned to make as a present. I use acrylics - all different types, since each has it's benefit. So I headed to OBI today to get the paint I need, and they don't have the color. Not only do they not have the color, I find out that the company went bankrupt and was purchased by another company, and that company has their own product that they will sell.

You might ask, what's the big deal? Can't you use another paint? The answer is no. Not unless it fits the parameters I need. If it doesn't fit these parameters, the paint cracks.

So, if anyone can help me, I'm looking for premium acrylic paint that can be used indoors and out doors. It has to be high gloss (Hochglanzend). So far no problem. The problem is all of that with this last one. It needs to be vapor free (lösemittelfrei).

I need to be able to pour the paint, and it be able to dry just as it lands and not crack. The "lösemittel" (vapors) cause the cracks. I've already tried. It can be a benefit if you want that to happen, but in this case, I really need the right stuff.

"Mohnrot" is the color I'm looking for if your OBI happens to have the color. Any other brand would work fine if it fits the parameters. I've checked on the internet, and not yet found a match. The sales lady says she doesn't carry anything like it. That was the only one they had with ZERO lösemittel.

You might want to try an artist supply store. boesner.ch is a good one with a huge selection. Good luck!

Re: Paint, no longer available

No, I don't really paint. The closest I come are collages and the like, that I make with old magazines or comic books. I sometimes incorporate paint or wires and other strange things with them, but the talent to paint things is definitely not in my hands!
