Re: Men's Haircuts in Zurich

Just slightly away from the thread, across the border in Konstanz (Germany) we can have the children's hair cut for EU 4. Mens also are cheaper, but I can't remember the price and the name of the barbers! It is down one of the backstreets behind McDonalds, take the side street next to McDonalds to the bottom and turn left at the end and the barbers is on the left hand side.

Mens haircut in Zurich

Any suggestions of an English speaking barber for men, preferably in the centre or in Oerlikon areas?

Re: Mens haircut in Zurich

Zelo in Seefeld has staff that can speak English - very good english too.
Zelo isn't the cheapest though.

Cheers

There is a Saloon in Josef Strasse. They cut hair only for 25.00.But they are not highly trained Coifeur. They know just to make short, precisely they are experts to cut.try it.You may guide them to cut your hair stylish as you will. The address is

Hi, the Swissotel in Oerlikon has a hairdressers called www.hairspring.ch Most the girls speak English. I go there for my haircuts. And I know some of my male friends go there as well.

Can anyone recommend a barber (not a unisex 'stylist') in Zurich or Winterthur, that will not charge me an arm and leg? Preferably Italian.

Re: Barber in Zurich or Winterthur

If you are willing to go down to Waedenswil, you can get an affordable standard haircut ( CHF 26/- avg ) with a reputable stylist.

Can anyone recommend a good gents hairdresser in Zürich city ?

If you've had a good cut, friendly banter and it was reasonably priced, thanks for letting me know.

Re: Good gents hairdresser in Zürich ?

Try this mobile hairdresser by the name of Pos from Australia.

He comes to your appointed location and if you have min 2 person it is CHF 40.

He is very good!!!

If you are interested for an appointment I can give you his mobile.

Re: Good gents hairdresser in Zürich ?

By reasonably priced, I assume you mean value for money and able to actually style, not necessarily 'cheap' and able to cut?

Try Zelo Frisöre in Seefeld, ask for Roger or Stephan They're er, as Jolly as geese and have the lowdown on the word on the street. Prices from around CHF70+

Re: Good gents hairdresser in Zürich ?

Frankie opposite the Oliver Twist in Rindermarkt is cheap (25 - 35 CHF depending how numerate he is when you see him), though it's best to get there in the morning before he's had too many beers.

You can usually choose what music video you want to watch during the cut (anything from seventies to, er, eighties rock), you're likely to be offered a can of beer, and you'll be entertained by a passing cast of eccentrics, lunatics and drunks who drop in to say hello, share a drink and talk nonsense for a few minutes.

If I didn't have a personal set of shears, I'd go there myself.

Yup, I'd second that - definitely worth the experience!

He was in top form on Saturday when I stopped by for a beer, sorry, haircut

My husband paid CHF 25 at Sihl City. There are two barber shops/hairdressers but the one he tried was on the first level up and towards the front of the main building (i.e. almost above the main revolving doors).

Wasn't a bad cut and it was cheap as chips. Don't know about the banter, though.

In Golden Asian Store, Limmatstrasse 199 (Tram 4/13 Quellenstrasse stop), there is a Haircutter, his name is L.A. Really good one (speaks good English and is a good entertainer: interesting stories while he cuts... probably one of the best traits of being Gay)! He has been working as a Parlorista/Haircutter for more than 7years in Geneva and decided to take on a new challenge and moved to Zürich.

Only for 25CHF. Haircut, priceless.
Thanks for the nice info, will check this out today.

Was the price for the Golden Asian Store $25 for a men's cut? Any idea of the extra costs? Ie Long hair, wash, dry etc?
Thanks
