Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich

So when looking for a good English speaking dentist I read all the reviews that have been posted on the topic and could not decide between Dr. Markus Mettler and Dr. Stefan Paul so I booked my daughter in for Stefan Paul and myself for Markus Mettler and figured if one appeared much better one of us would change.

We have also visited Dr Drechsler the orthodontist and been impressed by him too.

My recommendation after more than 2 visits to each is definitely Dr Stefan Paul. Feel free to PM for details.

PD Dr. med. dent. Stefan Paul

Ästhetisch rekonstruktive Zahnmedizin

Dr. med. dent. Antje Paul

Dr. med. dent. Thomas Drechsler

We would recommend Dr Marey at Cosmodent in Bahnhofplatz for all dentistry, she's extremely calm and patient with anyone who's nervous with going to the dentist, as I am and speaks excellent English.

I can also highly recommend Susan Schlessinger who is their amazing Dental Hygienist who we've been going to for several years now.

Crazy, but My SON came home, after a night out, with his THREE front teeth broken. Believe me, after 30 years of caring for patients' teeth...I cried a river of tears...

I wanted to say that Dr Marey is excellent. I had an emergency filling a few months ago and with Susan's help, i was able to get right in. I have a lot of old fillings that need to be replaced and we're doing them slowly. I think Dr Marey is really good, fast and I've had very little pain. Their prices are reasonable for composite fillings, and reasonable for Switzerland, and Susan did a great job with the cleaning and basic exam.

Fortunately, my colleagues came to the rescue....

Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich

Just though I'd ad that I tried to make an appointment here:

http://www.swiss-smile.com/en/swiss-...shopville.html

The website has lots of good English explanation, but maybe their english speaker is gone now?

They offer Italian or German though

I highly recommend Anders Johansson at http://zahncity.ch

He did a nice job tidying up a bit of gum erosion and fitting a nightguard so I don't do any more unnecessary damage.

Prices are normal Swiss tariffs and they are open 7 days/wk, most days of the year. Efficient online/booking and cancellation for those who don't like doing things over the phone.

Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich

Thanks for the recommendation Tasebo! I've already made an appointment with Heinz Egli, as quite a few people had nice things to say about him... The office at least seemed friendly, and I hope it's good sign that they didn't have an opening for a cleaning for a few weeks.

I only need a (slightly overdue) cleaning and checkup, so I hope I keep all my teeth Mark!!!

Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich

Hi guys, I need a huge check-up with X-rays and I need it to be very detailed and accurate for an insurance premium plan... can anyone please recommend a good one in Zürich for me to go to that will do a good job and won't try and rip me off?

Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich

Since my post above, I've been to see Dr Egli (mostly his hygienist) and the office seemed very reasonably priced and friendly. And you can certainly get prices from them before hand!

I would recommend staying away from the chains. They're after the bottom line while a self-employed dentist may be more in-tune with the health of his or her patients.

At least, that's been my experience in Switzerland. The chains really burned me.
