Balcony cleaning rule in CH?

So I cleaned my balcony with wet cloth. There is a section I can't reach with my hands and using soapy water with brush is the only option. Do I have to inform the guy downstairs and tell him to open his balcony shade thing? OR should I just wash it one day when I see his balcony shade open?
Problem is that I hardly see him and when I do he hides his face and tries to avoid contact with everyone. Can I leave a note? Don't want to break any rules

Hi,

I lived in 4 previous apartments and never cleaned the balconies beyond a sweep and a little mop. Maybe you are being a little over-enthusiastic

Re: Balcony cleaning rule in CH?

Nice one guys The balcony is actually super clean. The thing is that the barrier that stops me from falling down got cleaned so well by me that it looks brand spanking new/sparkling white. The base of it is kind of attached to the outside of the balcony floor. I can't reach the narrow gap properly with my hand to rub hard. Currently the top 95% of the barrier is white as chalk but the bottom 5% is greyish white. This difference is bugging the hell out of me

Anyway I just sprayed some chemicals on it tol loosen the stuff. Tomorrow morning I will see if I can get my hand there and get it all cleaned up without pouring petrol

Hello
Well, you just go ahead and clean in the normal waking hours, that is usually 6am to 10pm. 12pm-1pm is lunch hour, so no cleaning allowed.
Sundays no no.

I would suggest washing it on a rainy day, to avoid any complication.

Funny thing happened to me: I also informed my downstairs neighbour about washing beforehand, they told me in surprise that I NEED NOT inform them.

Hope this helps you, as I try to provide a VALUE ADDED message to you.

HAT

PS: Off topic: Please use gloves whenever you use chemicals....your next generation offsprings may depend on your action.

I'll second that. I think often as foreigners here we end up being super scared and paranoid. In practical terms there's an awful lot you can get away with (if you want to) that would get you in big trouble in other countries (like not bothering to get your kids to wear their seatbelts for example).

I've never heard of a specific "rule" for your situation - so it just comes down to how you feel your neighbour would react. Even if he gets upset - I doubt you'll have the police on your doorstep for it!

The suggestion about waiting for a rainy day was an excellent on - I'm sure there's plenty of those on the way soon!

JR, if your neighbour hides or avoids contact with everyone most likely you won't have any trouble from him. So wash and clean away to your heart's content

I don't believe in taking pictures for such small stuff. If you are pretty lady then I would prefer to take you on a personal guided tour of my balcony. I will show you all the brushes and chemicals I used Don't worry I am kidding

Re: Balcony cleaning rule in CH?

Well, dunno about "pretty lady". I'm 32, married...oh, and BTW, a guy. I shaved today, maybe that's the source for confusion . Although the beer belly, hairy chest, arms and legs, and the balding thing...I don't know. Maybe we should change the subject, don't you think ?
