Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

Le Redoute and Espirit have online ranges. Best to try on in a shop though, as it's amazing how the sizes differ from "regular" clothes and how big the size of your bump is.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

They have maternity stuff in store in the bigger H&M here in Neuchâtel. Maybe they only carry it in selected stores?

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

H&M in basel definitely have a maternity section, as do Espirit. When I go to the Uk I choose Next, Matalan and Debenhams. To be honest though, other than maternity jeans, I just buy longer tops and bigger skirts with elastic waistbands.....not worth spending double the money for an elastic stretch band that just makes me warmer.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

C&A has maternity department too - although it may be hard to find, as it tends to be smack next to (and blends in a little too well with) the XL stuff (size 48 - 58).

As mimi1981 says though, the blouses and dresses from the plus stuff probably work alright to some extent, but watch the v-necks because your shoulders and back don't generally expand the same way, so you may be revealing a lot more than you intend.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

I don't know any Swiss online shops but can recommend www.seraphine.com and www.queenbee.com.au - delivery is fast and the choice is big! They saved my pregnancy time in Switzerland...

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

I dunno how you feel about shopping with them, but BonPrix has a maternity section as well.

IF I were to need it, I would worry more about looking cute (style over "fashion") and fabric not bothering me more than designer labels, but of course not everyone feels the same.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

Totally agree Peg. Pregnancy clothing should offer comfort before anything else in my opinion. As long as it fits, is comfy and looks relatively ok for anyone looking at you, then that is the way forward. If i could wear my nightie to work, I so would.

Vertbaudet has a maternity line. I have bought kids clothes from them before and they are of good quality.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

I bought most of my maternity clothes online from US stores* as I found that the selection here wasn't so great, and the prices were sometimes ridiculous for something I'd be wearing for such a short amount of time.

I agree, though, that H&M an C&A have probably the better-priced maternity clothes I've ever found here. But like others mentioned, it's usually only their really big stores that have maternity sections.

*I bought most of my mat. clothes from oldnavy.com -- very comfy and affordable with reasonable int'l shipping rates.

P.S. Elastic is your friend.

Finally found the H&M maternity section - downstairs in the Bahnhofstrasse store in Zurich (the biggest one, near Rennweg)...

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

Next Directory have a swiss website - its fantastic (many things are cheaper than in the UK as the seem to transfer prices like for like into CHF, i.e. £15 will be 15 CHF! I think this is as you don't have to pay the UK VAT). Free delivery over 25 CHF and they take care of everything - shipping tax.

http://ch.nextdirect.com/en/search/SearchTerm-maternity

Also great for baby clothes.

Slightly warning, although they say they take care of tax etc a friend of mine had a package stopped at customs and charged levied when I think she spent over 35/40 CHF - I only ever ordered things for less than that and had no problems. But its worth making each order around 30 CHF - free shipping anyway, so just split your items into multiple orders.

Re: where to shop online for maternity clothing?

I made the mistake of ordering from the UK at first (Isabelle Oliver). Came with huge import tax bill and the sizes were totally wrong. I ended up sending most of the stuff back.
In the end, I bought bigger sizes at Zara and Esprit (big jeans), maternity wear at H&M in Bahnhofstrasse (great breast-feeding tops which you can already start wearing) and funnily enough beach dresses from Roxy and the likes.
The problem with shorts was that my bump kept on growing and growing, so I had to switch to dresses in the final 2-3 months. Also, my legs were so swollen towards the end, I was glad they weren't on display!
