Mattresses and proper pillows in Basel

Where's the best place around Basel to look for these things? We're moving into our new flat at the start of next month so were thinking of getting it sorted earlier rather than later.

We're after a decent foam mattress for a double bed along with some British sized pillows, these giant ones they have here just aren't as good for sleeping on.

Any suggestions?

Order online from Ergoflex in the Uk.
They deduct the VAT, and even with the other delivery costs and mwst, still far cheaper than buying it here.
And they have a sale on currently.

Manor has decent UK sized pillows as does TopTip. They're not cheap though.
I don't mind paying though to get a decent night's sleep.

Re: Mattresses and proper pillows in Basel

It's not just the price, my ergoflex memory foam mattress is the best mattress I've ever had, not to be confused with the cheap crap from Ikea etc.
There's lots of online reviews. They also sell pillows and mattress protecters.

The only minor gripe I have with it is that it's quite warm in the summer.

They may be, you are just used to something different and think it's best without trying anything else

As far as I remember, they have these pillows ( I prefer them too, and have tried years sleeping with other ones) in Marktkauf in Germany.

Nope it's just a matter of personal preference. I have tried the really large ones and the square ones but I still prefer ( and sleep better) using the UK ( 50x70 cm) sized pillows. The filling is also important, some are much better for me than others but somebody else mat disagree, it's all down to individual preference.

I me a also has "normal" pillows. If you go to marktkauf don't go on a weekend... its madness.

Where's that? I've never heard if that one.

If you mean IKEA then their pillows are 10cm shorter than the standard British pillow but will work and are infinitely better than the massive ones. ( although our son likes the huge ones)

When it comes to mattresses, my rule of thumb is buy the best, as you spend a third of your life in it.

But it is a tricky one, a quick lie down in the showroom is hardly adequate to make a decision.

I think Ikea offer a 60 day trial period, but on return, you get a credit voucher, not a refund.

Re: Mattresses and proper pillows in Basel

I've tried loads of mattresses over the years and the one I bought from Ikea here 5 years ago is the best I've had. I paid around 600 CHF for it (160x200)

Re: Mattresses and proper pillows in Basel

Has anyone got any experience with Fetag (www.fetag.ch) in Basel? We liked a few of the mattresses from there and they had pillows that were pretty close to UK sizes, just a few cm shorter.
