Absolte nonsense.

It is held closed by the magnetic strip in the gasket.

Tom
Yeah, but not glue either. TBH, I'm not surprised that the shops don't understand what the OP is on about!

"Glue... to hold the fridge door shut? Nope, sorry, don't have that in stock."

I'd second the comments to push this on to the house regie and get their input. This is maintenance of white goods which are supplied by the landlord and subject to wear and tear. If the fridge door isn't shutting and you've not done anything different to normal wear and tear, it shouldn't be your problem to fix.

Re: glue for the refriegerator door

If the 'fridge is over 10 years old then repairs are not at your cost at all, as a refrigerator has a life of only 10 years. You could ask for a replacement,

You could indeed, but then regie will probably say they won't replace because "it is fixable" - and in case they take their time fixing, you might have a hard time living without a usable fridge. So if you report it to regie for replacement, add a line in your letter (do this in writing so that they can't say you didn't tell them) which says that you would like a replacement of the fridge since it isn't in usable condition anymore and older than 10 years (if it is), but that you give them, say, until Sept 15th to professionally (!) remedy the problem at their cost (this isn't a Kleinreparatur, so not your job to pay no matter how complex the work is) in case they think the fridge doesn't need replacement but rather just some maintenance (meaning, possibly a magnet change).
If by Sept 15th they haven't fixed the fridge, you can then ask for a new fridge and at the same time take the case to the MV (of which I hope you are a member) and start an arbitration procedure if necessary.

+ any cabinetry attached to the fridge door may have hinges that snap to close position. Some adjustments here may help.

But if she wanted to glue something in her fridge, would advise using one that is non-toxic and does not smell.
Would it matter?
Guess it would be rather difficult to open the door undamaged once the glue does its work

Consider it a weight loss plan.
