english speaking gay community?

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Basel from Zug; and was wondering if there's any gay scene / hang-outs for english-speaking people in here?

Probably not - just checking if someone knows good places/tips to consider when going out here.

It would be awesome in the meantime, if someone when going out (day or night) would give me a shout - I'm trying to establish a social network in Basel with english speaking community.

There's a huge scene in Zurich, I guess there're plenty of flyers and people who'd know. Would mean having to traipse over to civilisation, of course, but it may be worth your while...

There were occassional 'Gay Drinks Nights' a while back (not refering to the drinks themselves); maybe look through past months on the calendar and see who attended / where they went.

I think I found a place... I was dancing with a guy who spoke to me in german but decided to share one strange remark in english

..."I am no Freddy Mercury"

Maybe he was just self conscious or I was giving out some significant "I am dancing with you because you might be gay" look...

On top I had to call a friend to find out who Freddy Mercury is.

Anyways as most of the joints out east are closed for the summertime its just anecdotal.

hey there....saw your ad today...there is a wicked party happening tonite ,my g friend is dj'ing plus another wicked chick.its on the lake at see bath enge.begins 9 or 10 ish.some live show as werll but i dont know what it is.should be a great evening...nite...mixed party,,,all are welcome.so-theres the goss...see ya there.happy b day swiss!!!

Are there cases of "Gay bashing" in Switzerland??I hear that some small towns in eastern Germany had problems with some right-wing groups in the past.Does the same exist in CH?

"Gay bashing"? No... of course political opinions p.e. about same-sex marriage vary. (Search the forum if you're interested)
