How to postpone the Swiss Military? Urgent!

I am a 20 year old Swiss who spent 16 of those years in South Africa.

I am 8 months back in Switzerland and I have settled in nicely with a nice apartment with a good job on the brink of promotion. I also have plans to study soon.

I recently received a 'Call of Duty' from the military for a recruitment day on the 18/09/2015. This day is to test us and sort us into groups for postions, I believe. The military will likely commence a few months after this day. This will result in me losing everything and having to start again.

I am not worried about the idea of going to the military. I am just bothered by the timing. I want to do the military and look forward to it, but just not now because it will destroy my plans for my future. Is there a way to delay it until I finish my studies?

My french is also not great. I can converse, but I can't read or write.

Thanks in advance.

"Recruitment " ,"Aushebung " It dose not mean your will be called up for service. They just want to see if you are fit for service . After you declare to be fit you have plenty of time to postpone it a year or two
If you want to doo the service mind you, you will get paid and the employer has to keep your job . Good luck Talk to the ppl at the Kreisscomando at the gemeinde

It is unavoidable.

If you are fit and healthy, you will be called up and required to do 2 years' minimum full time service, including at least one tour (probably Iraq or Syria at this rate). If you are unlucky. If you are lucky, and not fit, you'll be required to work at HQ in Bern, pushing paper or driving trucks around the country. You don't get to drive tanks unless you volunteer for 3 years' service.

The posting will be worse if your language is bad. Most likely infantry (cannon fodder) where speaking doesn't matter too much.

Alternatively, you could look up exactly what is required before panicking.
