Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

Looking for an English speaking hygienist in the Lausanne/Geneva area to clean my pearly whites. Preferrably one who comes recomended. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Also maybe a ballpark of what you paid for the standard cleaning. I opted out of dental insurance so out of my poket it comes.

Also, if anyone recomends a dentist who does cheap basic cavity fillings, let me know. I have a feeling I may be in the market for one soon after the cleaning.

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

I use the Adent clinic in Ecublens - they have just opened in Meyrin, I believe:

www.adent.ch

great opening hours, very reasonable prices (relative: dentistry in Switzerland being very expensive) and most of the hygenists are from Quebec so have some English.

I also got to to the Adent, but the one at Blecherette. My don't know if the D/H speaks English but the dentist (who is really cute, BTW) speaks E/D/F.

There is an American D/H who works in the building where the Peking Duck restaurant is, or so I've been told. I can't confirm this yet.

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

Thanks for the link to the Adent clinic in Ecublens, which isn't too far from me. It looks nice (there's a little photo slide show), but does anyone know how much a hygienist visit would be, roughly..?

I have 'normal' sort of teeth and visited the dentist/ hygienist 6 monthly in the UK, so we're not talking two hours' diligent flame-thrower work here to bring them up to scratch!

Many thanks

kodokan

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

I can't remember how much it costs. I made an appointment last week and the D/H only had an appointment in July(!). You do have to book quite a bit in advance. So I can tell you then because digging up last year's bill is not going to happen!

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

My last Dental hygiene visit in Zurich was 157 Fr. for the standard caries search and calculus treatment (no whitening or other fancy things). Plus 41 Fr. for two small X-rays for wisdom teeth (and also caries, I think) monitoring.

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

I go to Paul Andre Moser who is in Ecublens and has a practice with his wife who is the hygenist. She's very thorough. He was recommended to me by a local. He's a great dentist and saved a botched root canal that I had done in the US. He can speak English and is very thorough and enthusiastic about showing you exactly what he's proposing and will tell you up front how much it will cost before you commit to treatment.

Re: Dental hygienist in Lausanne/Geneva

This is a bit far from your neck of the woods, but I go to the Dental Clinic Chablais in Monthey. CHF 65 for a cleaning with x-rays.
