Good lamp/lighting stores in Zurich?

Visited Lumimart and every single big furniture store in Zurich with lighting departments, still didn't find anything we liked.
Any personal recommendations on small specialized lamp stores in Zurich area?
Thanks in advance!

There is one in Uetikon am See/Meilen on Seestrasse by the Massarati garage and the gym. I cannot remember the name of it but they were great and have a good selection.

We have used these guys to do all the lights in our new build house. They were really quite competitive with their prices when we did some comparisons....

Re: Good lamp/lighting stores in Zurich?

This is just my personal opinion, but unless you like the modern all functional stuff, Switzerland is not really a good place to buy lamps.

Personally my tastes are more traditional and I like my lamps to be a little more decorative and less Bauhaus or Ikea wannabe.

I have some art deco lamps that came from antique shops (pretty costly, but I like them, and seeing I have to look at them every day I'm happy I didn't settle for compromises here). I also have lamps I brought from the UK and from Spain. Some shops even have online stores and will send to Switzerland but this will create some import duty hassle.

This is just my personal opinion, but unless you state what you are looking for you won't get any useful replies - just opinions on places that posters found useful in sourcing lights that matched their own personal style.
You need to be more assertive in your posting Amogles.

I found Luminart to be excellent and covered all my lighting needs. The OP is clearly talking rubbish

An FYI:

I have several Art Deco and similar style lamps - ceiling, table, floor - from Berliner Messinglampen:

http://www.berliner-messinglampen-shop.de/shop/

These are very good quality, you can choose from several finishes and many shade options, each piece is made to order. Prices, while more than Ikea, are not outrageous. About the same price as what I have paid for similar quality and design in the US.

I ordered them through a Swiss retailer, Blankenbyl For Living in Pfäffikon ZH, http://www.blankenbyl.ch

This was over 10 years ago; Blankenbyl's current website does not show any Berliner Messing lamps, they are now showing stuff that is more... 'Swiss'... than I remember in their store. But as recently as a few years ago they could still order Berliner Messing for you if you want to avoid the import hassle, perhaps worth checking out.

There are also likely other Swiss retailers for Berliner Messinglampen products; write the company for info, contact details here:

.

It would help if you could state what styles you like or prefer.

Old traditional, modern, art-deo, plain simple, italian design, Halogen, Led or old plain Wolfram, with glas or really no glass.

Re: Good lamp/lighting stores in Zurich?

I've never bought anything here, myself, but accompanied a few people there, over the years, and they were delighted to find something a bit out-of-the-ordinary:

Nearest tram stop Neumarkt on tram line 3.

I've been meaning to pop in this shop for, oh... about 18 years now, drooling over some of the beautiful pieces in the window as I pass by. But it is never open when I am in the area. So before I make a special trip into the city (something that takes planning on the order of military precision) any idea of prices?

I ask because I once popped into another lamp store in the Altstadt, lured by a nice-but-not-really-unusual stained glass piece in the window. And then I saw the price... 150K. And no, it was not a Tiffany original. Beat a hasty retreat...
