You might have used the secret handshake then.

Her XJ40 just uses an old fashioned tibbe. Even the remote no longer works after it went through the washer...

Re: Grumpy Old Man

Um. Sorry if this has been suggested already, but have you thought about leaving it plugged in and turning up the volume?!

Re: Grumpy Old Man

To the OP:

I sympathise if you're disappointed, but it shouldn't be that big a deal. Most rechargeable things don't last very long, do they? Phones last a day for me; and I have a cordless vacuum cleaner that lasts only 15 minutes and needs 4 hours to charge fully.

OK, I appreciate that a radio is something you want to keep on longer than a vacuum cleaner but you simply have to get into the habit of plugging it in somewhere once a week. As someone said, do it overnight and you shouldn't notice the inconvenience.

Re: Grumpy Old Man

Well, as the man from the Migros said, 'things could be worse'.

Nor am I disappointed really, I just have the feeling of being caught unawares.
Anyway, a few days ago I sat down with all the cables in front of me that I have for all the other things that need to be charged at regular intervals. All of them only fitting one apparatus. I attached a label to each one and designated a small drawer for their safekeeping.

2 cables for my 2 cameras
1 for my ipad
1 for my Kindle
1 for my new super Bosch 'stand-up' vacuum cleaner (recommended)
1 for my mobile phone, and now (still needs labelling)
1 for my radio.

maybe I've even forgotten something.

7 different cables - quite honestly that's ridiculous and grounds enough to be a real grumpy old man.

I don't know what that 'One Foot in the Grave' fellow would have to say about it - but I'm sure he would have my sympathy.
