Re: Seamstress/clothing alterations needed (Zurich)

You could try this place
Eva Hermann
Floraweg 1
Wädenswil
Mon-Fri 13.00-18-30 Saturday 10.00-16.00
I only know of her through someone who knows someone who knows someone so unfortunately I cannot recommend her from personal experience. I'm pretty sure she speaks English though so it might be worth asking her what she thinks about your job.

She hasn't a home page, but you can PM me for phone number and email address if you like.

I go to this gentleman. I think his work is excellent, and he does not speak English.

You can try the seamstress at Coop (3rd floor, Bahnhofstrasse).
I just went there and I will check the results on Tuesday!

Good place for alterations/tailoring in Zurich?

Hi,

I need to get some clothes altered - but I want to find a good place as I need more than just hems adjusted, rips fixed etc - I need a jacket re-sized and so forth. Any recommendations in the Zurich area?

Thanks!

If you do a google search on the forum under 'alterations Zurich' there are several threads. At least one of them has recommendations.

Hi! I have been extremely satisfied by the taylor at the airport! cheap, good and fast.

You can find it at the same place fo the laundry, close to the airdresser and the shoe-repair!

hope this helps!

Hello highrotation,
Did you find a good seamstress yet? I'm looking for a good one one too who can do a fabulous job on complicated alterations.

Does anyone have some good experience with a seamstress who can do a great job with complicated stuff??

Had another horrific experience with one downtown near Enge with a big, tall lady who runs the sweat shop... Poor customer service and extremely expensive!

I just tried one in Horgen via the Terlinden in Thalwil and they LOST my blazer that was bought in London! Still upset and going thru process of getting my money back!

Hope you have better luck than me...

I just found a dry cleaner up the street from the Hiltl restaurant which will hem your jeans with the original hem for 30 CHF - took them today and they told me to come back on Monday to get them.

Re: Alterations / Tailors / Seemstress in Zurich area

Reviving the thread to see if there is anyone in Zurich who will do a QUICK hem alteration- 24 or 48 hour turnaround? I have four pairs needing hems but have been going with them cuffed (which looks sloppy but at least I'm clean, right) rather than the "come back in a week" "come back in two weeks" I've gotten around Zurich. As a fat girl, I already don't have that many clothes that fit my expansive waist, so parting with 60% of my wardrobe at once for a week+ is hard. I'm about to go in anywhere and do two at a time, it is just a PITA...

There is a place in Zug, in the bottom level of Mettali that does very quick alterations. They have a same day service IIRC.

There is a place at the Glattzentrum that will do it in an hour - but it's like 40 CHF each pair of pants.

Are there any dry cleaners who do tailoring on the Langstrasse?
