I often work late at night like now (2:40 am) and I hear aereoplanes that seem to be flying at very very high altitude. Am I just imagining or they for real? Passenger or maybe military transport?

Btw do Swiss allow US/NATO planes to fly over their airspace unofficially? I know they allowed them during the Bosnian conflict.

You hear them, hope you didn't buy a home in there path.

I like the sound of aeroplanes flying actually. If I had my way I would pepper the sky with flying vehicles. Just was not sure if the sound was in my brain or for real Heard two more since I posted this thread.

i thought they were not allowed to land in CH after 11pm...maybe they are on the way to DE? Up late myself.

A lot of the flights are British scheduled/charter (Easyjet, Monarch, Excel) flights from/to the Mediterranean area and of course cargo flights (mail, FedEx, DHL, etc). If you are really interested I can send you some detailled sample listings of flights transiting the Zurich airspace.

Please note that this site has a 15 minute delay - I guess for security reasons...

Glad to know that it was not my imagination. I think your info is enough for me. For some reason I assumed that nothing was allowed to fly over Swiss airspace at night.
